JV boys’ tennis put up a good fight against Hamilton South Eastern. They learned how to work as a team, and they got to compete against some tough competition. Even though it was only a JV match, the team had some great support from their families and friends. They got to show their talents and prove their athletic abilities to their coaches. They shined on the court and impressed the crowd. Colten Slaven, a YHS freshman, said, “I have been playing tennis since I was 10 years old. I’ve been hitting around for about 4 years, but I started getting serious and playing real matches at the start of this high school season.” This shows the opportunities that Colten has been able to experience! Gavin Bailey said that his coaches have already helped him improve, and it is only the start of the season. “They have showed me basic skills, and they encourage me. They taught me about sportsmanship, too.” Lastly, Aaron Buehler said, “Gavin Bailey is my partner and getting to know him and creating a bond on the court has been my favorite memory.” The JV boys’ tennis team cannot wait to improve their skills and learn more about the game throughout the remainder of the season.
