On March 3rd, Yorktown High School DECA went to Indianapolis to begin their annual State Career Development Conference. From Sunday through Tuesday, members competed in business and professional events ranging from hospitality and tourism to project management. Several YHS students qualified for the next round of competition at the International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, California this April. Qualifiers include Brycen Shively in Professional Selling, Meghan Buehler in Financial Consulting, Sophie Gernand and Aurellia Moulton in Project Management Community Awareness, as well as Sierra Spangler and Addie Fauqher in Project Management Business Solutions. Also taking the stage were finalists Maizie Gesler and Connor Gamble in their respective events. Furthermore, Lucy Holaday, Isabelle Gibbs, and Henry Ko received an honorable mention in Project Management Finacial Literacy as well as Peyton Wormer, Bella Yant, and Maria Yant received an honorable mention in Project Management Career Development. Lastly, Brady Kerrigan placed 6th in the Food Marketing Series. Congratulations to all YHS DECA members!
